RESPONSIBILITY

HBE clothing started with the mission to combine streetwear style with environmental and social responsibility. Therefore, we decided to work exclusively with production sites that are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). All of our fabrics, dyes, prints, embroidery and the production site we work with in Portugal comply to the requirements of GOTS and can be found in the GOTS-database.

Working with GOTS makes sure that...

...our organic cotton includes a minimum of 95% natural organic fibres and was grown free of synthetic pesticides, insecticides or herbicides.

...the use of chemicals in colouring, auxiliaries and processing of fabrics is strongly regulated.

... all of our manufacturers, processors and traders comply to a social standard concerning fair labour conditions.

Lastly, we want to highlight that GOTS specifically rejects any forms of ‚greenwashing‘.

Can a label change the world?

Early on, we have chosen to use the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) as a benchmark measure for the quality and transparency of our supply chain. That way, we want to ensure to our costumers and our community that we put our values into work.

Using this standard will not mean that we have 360° supervision over every pitstop on the way to our products. But every piece of clothing sold at HBE will have a tracking code for you to retrace the journey of our apparel starting from the cotton farm to our production site in Barcelos, Portugal.

GOTS is not only a reliable and responsible partner in our supply chain. Importantly, it is way more than just a label for us. It is a promise that one thing at HBE clothing will never change – our core mission to address the needs of today for a more sustainable and considerate streetwear fashion scene tomorrow.
