Meet our Artists

In 2020, we launched an open call to connect with artists from all around the world and asked them to share their vision of revolution with us. The format MEET OUR ARTISTS presents those artists, that lastly inspired our designs available in the first collection.

Daniel took the opportunity to share his story in his own words:

"I am photographer from the Medway Towns. My main body of work looks to the landscape thats closest to me, being drawn to the river Medway which splits the cluster of towns within Kent. I am also drawn to coastal communities within Britain, documenting the everyday people and places that fill these landscapes.

My curiosity to document comes from an interest in archival practices and the importance of creating a record of the changing landscape. I currently work for the British Library as a Senior Imaging Technician, digitising a vast archive focused on the Gulf Region. Also collecting an archive of found vernacular photography (@loveday_archive), which both inform and inspire the visual outcomes of my work.

The work used for this was taken from my collection of vernacular photography, finding the portraits inspired a large typology of the work and also lead me to reconnect with each of people and/or their families, with the goal of reuniting them with their portrait. From this exercise I learnt stories about the people, and brought back memories for the families of their loved ones that have past. This final outcome with HBE, honours the great sport of American football and the high school Ohio Xenia team of 1978."
